Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 June 2026
Welcome to Shepherd. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Shepherd application and related services (the “Service”). By signing in or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Shepherd.
1. What Shepherd is
Shepherd is a pastoral care tool that helps pastors and church leaders keep an honest, up-to-date picture of the people under their spiritual care — attendance, follow-ups, prayer requests, tasks, a shared library, analytics and WhatsApp notifications.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for everything that happens under your Shepherd account. If you invite others to your team, you are responsible for the access you grant them.
3. Your data and your members' data
Any information you record about your congregation members belongs to you and the people you serve. You agree to enter and use it for legitimate pastoral care, with appropriate consent, and in line with applicable law. Shepherd processes this data on your behalf — see our Privacy Policy for details.
4. WhatsApp notifications
When you and your team enable WhatsApp notifications, Shepherd sends operational messages (task assignments, daily summaries, reminders, mentions) to the WhatsApp numbers you provide. You must have the right to send those messages and you must comply with WhatsApp's own terms of service. Notifications can be switched off church-wide in Settings → Notifications at any time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Shepherd to send unsolicited or commercial messages.
- Upload anything illegal, hateful, or harmful to others.
- Probe, scan or attempt to break the Service or other accounts.
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
6. Service availability
Shepherd is provided on a best-effort basis. We work to keep the Service reliable and reasonably fast, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may schedule maintenance, fix bugs, change features or pause features as the product evolves.
7. Pricing
Where Shepherd is offered free of charge, that may change in the future and we will give reasonable notice before introducing paid plans. Any paid features will be described clearly before you choose to use them.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Shepherd at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing us. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or put other users or the Service at risk.
9. No warranty
Shepherd is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to make it useful and accurate, we do not warrant that it will be error-free or suitable for any particular ministry decision.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shepherd is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 50 if you have not paid us anything.
11. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
